Currently I have one sole project – to bring the Standish Line back up to scratch. I’ll post updates on a periodic basis but here’s where we are up to – click here for the diary
Location – The ‘Line’ in Standish
Described as an old Mineral Line used to transport coal on a narrow guage railway used up until the 1960’s for more information check out – standish-history.org.uk a superb site with loads of historical info about the area.
The Line is approx 1 mile long (as I know it) if you want to a walk down it you can find the route here. There’s not a great deal to see and currently parts are very muddy so wear boots!
Current project location
The exact area can be found here on Google Maps (thanks guys for a superb service). If you haven’t used Google Maps check it out it awesome.
The project has been extended now to take in the whole of the line – 1 mile long.
