Well all the hard work earlier in the paid off with a spectacular display of wild flowers. Wild Marigolds, Ox Eye Daisy, Flanders Poppy, Wild Pansies, Calendula, Cornflowers – to name but a few. The really great things is about this fantastic display is that passes by have appreciated them, I’ve watched people stop and take in the splendour as they’ve been walking by – which is really rewarding.
Anyway it’s getting towards the end of summer and almost time to do some seed collecting, sowing clearing a longer stretch before winter sets in. With this in mind I’m going to hire a
brush cutter and take a out a massive swath of brambles, in addition employ a pick axe to move some more cinder further up the path.
Sadly the council haven’t done anything to help yet but I’m going to give them a nudge to get some work done, I’m sure they’re busy with other things. Either way if I get another area cleared before winter and then again in the early spring next summer will be amazing – a real treat.
So in many ways it’s the start of a new load of work and a new beginning, I should be able to get a bucket load of free seed from this years plants, plus I still have lots left from the Shevington Primary School donation.
Either way if you have enjoyed seeing the wild flowers this year let me know, and if you want to help in anyway shape or form drop me a line, or just get your sleeves rolled up.
Here’s a bunch of pictures from this years display hope you you like them.
