If you’ve arrived at this page because you scanned a QR code stuck to a tree then you are stood looking at a patch of land that was once covered with wild flowers supporting a variety of wildlife – including bees and pollinating insects. The little signs you see on the ground are a protest against what Wigan Council has done – KILLED ALL THE VEGETATION!
By using aggressive weed killers to control weeds Wigan Council have turned this land into a nasty poisoned desert!
Killing wild flowers risks the total loss of the bee, if we loose the bee and other pollinating insects we loose most of your food – fact!
I personally bought 100g (£30) of wild flower seeds and distributed them to help the plight of the bee – but its a battle I can’t win alone.
If you want to see councils pro-actively support the bee population and plant wild flowers instead of the current destructive policy of weed killer and mow then please sign the epetition – Give Us Back our Wild Flowers
Saving bees and pollinating insects isn’t just a ‘Green Hippy’ type thing it really is a life or death problem for the human population – NO BEES = NO FOOD!
